FACP Recognizes Ocala CEP CEO as the Association’s Executive of the Year

The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals (FACP) recognized Florida’s top chambers of commerce throughout the state for their outstanding achievement and dedication to the industry. The awards were presented at the organization’s Annual Conference, held September 22-24, 2021, at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside in Jupiter, Florida.

The prestigious Executive of the Year Award acknowledges a chamber executive who has made outstanding contributions in the world and work of chamber management.  The individual must meet several criteria including: strong internal administration and organization; the ability to maintain an increase membership; development of a strategic plan; and an ability to recruit, motivate and reward the volunteers.

This year, FACP honored Kevin T. Sheilley, President of the Ocala Metro Chamber & Economic Partnership. While Sheilley’s accomplishments are too numerous to list, several include having won two ACCE National Titles in 2020 – the National Chamber of the Year as well as a “Best In Show” Award for Communications Excellence for its innovative “Get. Gather. Go.” Campaign for PPP reimbursements to local businesses during the pandemic; having become the “image of Ocala” who is loved and admired by all that he serves; achieving a 94% retention rate of partners within the organization; and launching a Healthcare-focused engagement team to expand outreach to this rapidly growing industry sector.

“The recognition from FACP was a great surprise and an incredible honor,” said Sheilley. “To be recognized by my peers is humbling. While the award was presented to me, it really is a team award. The CEP team is second to none and makes not only me look good but our community.”

“Kevin Sheilley exemplifies every trait that one would think of relating to an excellent leader – he has a humble spirit that pairs well with his strong leadership skills, he is an innovator and is not afraid to think outside of the box, and he leads by example,” stated Tammy Bracewell, President of FACP.

FACP is a statewide organization whose mission is “Advancing excellence in chamber management” and whose vision is “Enhancing Florida's business communities by cultivating successful chamber professionals.
