WOCA teams up with CF Patriots to broadcast basketball games

Posted on: December 11, 2013

Fans of the College of Central Florida Patriots Men's Basketball team will now have the opportunity to listen to the 2013 NJCAA National Champions on the radio in Ocala and Marion County.

WOCA will broadcast eight (8) regular season games during the 2013-2014 regular season. It all leads up to the Florida State Junior College Tournament, which will be played in Ocala for the first time ever this coming postseason.

The McDonald Allstate Agency is the title sponsor for this season's broadcasts of CF Basketball, which capped an historic 2012-2013 season by winning its first ever national championship under 11-year head coach Tim Ryan. After bringing home the trophy, the Patriots were honored with a victory parade on Ocala's Downtown Square.

Veteran sportscaster and Voice of Ocala contributor Tom James will handle play-by-play duties as the "Voice of CF Basketball." James, a former NBC-TV affiliate Sports Anchor & two-time Edward R. Murrow Award winner, has also been play-by-play man and television face of last season's Sweet 16 darlings Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), the last four (4) years.
