Unbridled Living to Make Its Debut for Area Horse Enthusiasts

BEST VERSION MEDIA is pleased to announce the launch of Unbridled Living, the premier magazine for Ocala/Marion County’s equine enthusiasts.

With a circulation of 5,000 issues per month sent to the homes of affluent decision makers and equine enthusiasts across multiple disciplines and breeds and distributed at equine events and horse shows, Unbridled Living will make its debut with a fall edition and will feature rich and colorful content that captures the region’s
vibrant equine lifestyle.

Unbridled Living is devoted to providing an exclusive glimpse inside the lives, homes, barns and events of Ocala/Marion County’s equine industry professionals and enthusiasts. The engaging mix of editorial will include insightful human interest articles, featuring both horses and humans; “A Day in the Life of….;” informative educational pieces and pictorials, as well as rotating columns from industry professionals on timely and relevant topics.

The staff responsible for producing Unbridled Living brings a wealth of industry experience to the endeavor. Publisher Laurie Zink has more than 20 years of experience in sales, fundraising and event management. Zink rode and trained professionally and as an amateur in a variety of divisions, including hunters and jumpers, saddle seat, harness, western and hunter pleasure, dressage and halter. An owner, breeder and farm manager, Zink has lived and worked in Ocala for 17 years. She co-chaired both Horse Fever projects and has a true appreciation for all breeds of horses and horse enthusiasts.

Michael Compton is a senior correspondent for Blood-Horse Publications and is former editor-in-chief of The Florida Horse magazine. He is also a frequent contributor to SpeedHorse magazine and his story “Happy Horses” appeared in Chicken Soup for the Horse Lover’s Soul published by Health Communications. A multiple American Horse Publications award winner, Compton is a former board member of the Ocala/Marion County Chamber of Commerce and the Public Education Foundation of Marion County.

Writer Julie Castro, a native of Australia, has worked with multiple breeds as a show ring competitor, racehorse rider, trainer, owner, breeder, international bloodstock agent and farm owner. Formerly the advertising director at Vessels Stallion Farm in California, Castro was a feature writer at Darley for six years and has been published in Daily Racing Form, Wire to Wire and Homes & Land.

Advertising Manager Lori Blanchard, a Floridian since age three, is an experienced marketing and advertising representative. An owner and breeder, Blanchard is a longtime member of the Florida Thoroughbred Breeders’ and Owners’ Association and the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. A rider since childhood, Blanchard moved to Ocala in 1996 and calls “The Horse Capital of the World” her “hometown.”
