OCALA, Fla. (March 19, 2014) – The Lillian Bryant Community Center, located at 2200 N.W. 17th Place, will be closed April 4 and 5. Florida Gas Transmission Company will be hydrostatic testing gas lines during those dates.

This test is a process in which FGT removes the existing natural gas from the pipeline, fills the line to a much higher level than normal operating pressure with water, and holds the water in the pipeline at this pressure for several hours.

Since this pipeline runs underneath a city park, FGT is requesting that the park be closed to the public over both days as a safety precaution. FGT will have people on site to secure the area from citizens entering the park while the pipes are being tested.

For more information regarding the pipeline testing, contact Rich Palmero at 813-310-5299. Recreation related questions can be directed to Ire Bethea at 352-368-5517.
