Are You Considering Owning a Business?
Ocala, FL (November 20, 2014)— The Ocala/The Villages SCORE Chapter and the Ocala Power Plant have structured a 2-part workshop to help you make an informed decision. The workshop, “Steps to Business Ownership,” is structured to be interactive. SCORE mentors will attend and be available to work with you in and outside of class.
Part 1 was held on Nov 12th. It provided an understanding of what it takes to own a business. Topics covered included ownership options, the pros and cons of each, ownership responsibilities, and critical success factors.
Part 2 will be conducted in two sessions. It will prepare you to actively pursue business ownership. You will learn how to express your vision, develop the elements of a business plan, the basics of financial management, and where and how to look for funding sources. You will participate in case studies designed to help you develop thought processes you can apply to your individual business pursuits. Part 2 will conclude with a self-evaluation: Are you prepared to move forward?
The Part 2 workshop sessions will be held at the Ocala Power Plant Business Incubator located at 405 SE Osceola Avenue, Ocala, FL 34471 on the following dates:
• Session 1: Wednesday Dec10th 1:30-4:30 P.M.
• Session 2: Thursday Dec 11th 1:30-4:30 P.M.
The fee Part 2 is $40 per person; spouses are encouraged to attend at no charge.
