Join distinguished speakers from Ocala, Marion County during the opening and closing sessions to see how organizations in the area are playing a role in global business and research. Then two experienced executives, Lawrence Paz and Jerry Synder, lead you across the globe to learn more about the global economy. Sessions on each of the continents focus on the regions’ key business sectors and how that may be changing. Discover major corporations working in that region and American countries that have major business dealings in the countries. Find out what is unique and different in their corporate culture.

Join the Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) President and CEO Kevin Sheilley as he discusses how Marion County does business across the globe. What local companies are in the business of exporting goods or services, which have offices overseas, and how Marion County is striving to attract more global business? The session ends with an overview of the Global Business Series by facilitators Jerry Snyder and Lawrence Paz.

Life science research and medical innovation are a critical part of the U.S. economy and quality of life with life science companies employing 1.3 million people with $96 billion in wages. The U.S. holds 41 percent of the world’s bio-tech patents many of which have aided in the reduction of mortality. Learn how one Ocala-based research organization is contributing to this much-needed research. The Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, headquarter in Pensacola with offices in Ocala, has cutting-edge researchers pioneering life science technologies to improve human capabilities and quality of life. This includes areas such as designing very unique prostheses, creating robots and exoskeletons, and improving language capabilities through technology.
