Helping Hands of OCALA, FL on December 19, 2013 was awarded a grant of $5,000.00 from Winn Dixie’s Bi-Lo Holdings Foundation.

"We are very grateful for this generous donation as it is a big boost in helping us rebuild the lives of homeless people", said Brad Dinkins, Chairman of Helping Hands. He further commented, " this is the largest grant we have ever received from the food industry".

Ocala Regional Medical Center Hosts Facility Rededication, Announces Next Major Expansion Projects

At a rededication ceremony held today on the campus of Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala Health CEO Randy McVay touted the significance of a recently completed $9.2M reskin project of the medical center, which included a refacing of the facility exterior, reconfiguration of the Emergency Services entrance, and creation of a two-level parking garage, adding 99 parking spaces to the campus.  McVay also announced the health system’s next expansion projects.

SECO Warns of Winter Scams

SECO officials are warning all electric customers to be wary of a variety of consumer scams being run in Central Florida this winter.

SECO Director of Corporate Communications Barry Bowman said, “Right now there are a number of scams being foisted upon the public by unscrupulous individuals whose sole purpose is to separate people from their hard-earned money. These scammers like to prey on our older population, in particular, which makes their actions even more reprehensible.”
