Th!nk Local Expo Set for Saturday, September 19th at CF's Ewers Century Center

Posted on: June 24, 2015

The 2015 Th!nk Local Expo will be held at the Klein Conference Center in the Ewers Century Center at the College of Central Florida on Saturday, September 19, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, as we introduce a new twist to drive more attendance, more interaction with our attendees and participants, and more opportunities for connection within our community.

The Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP), in partnership with the College of Central Florida, will focus on our local business community.  The importance of Buy Local, Eat Local, and Learn Local is integral to building community, strengthening local economy, shaping our character, increasing the wealth and health of residents, and creating jobs, opportunities, and choices.

A newly added component of this year’s Th!nk Local Expo will include Learn Local—a DIY learning concept that has become popular in cities across the US, such as Skillshare events.  Learn Local is a free learning opportunity focused on DIY experiences accessible to anyone that wants to learn, and to anyone that wants to teach.  Classes are focused on learning by doing, interaction instead of lecturing, with topics covering a myriad of skills.  Most classes will last between 1 and 2 hours and will take place in blocks throughout the day.

Also new to the Th!nk Local Expo this year will be a Eat Local campaign.  Have you ever wanted to sample fare with friends from multiple food trucks?  This is your chance!  As a part of the push to Eat Local, we will invite Marion County food truck vendors to set up close to the expo.

Attending the Expo is free to the public, with easy access and plenty of parking.

The Th!nk Local Expo is an excellent, cost-effective opportunity to showcase your business and services to area businesses and consumers that attend the event. We will be using a variety of media to promote the event including radio ads, billboards, magazine, newspaper, banners and posters.

You are invited to participate as a vendor or sponsor of the 2015 Th!nk Local Expo. Your support of this event will be greatly appreciated!  For information, contact Diana at
