Ocala, Florida (November 3, 2015) – The Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) announced today that Paramount Transportation Logistics Services, which provides supply chain and transportation management services, will establish a facility in the Ocala area, creating 200 transportation-related jobs. The facility will be located at 1330 SW 38th Avenue, which previously housed the Merillat Cabinet facility.

“We are excited about the opportunities the Merrilat Building brings to our operations. The size, location and interstate proximity create a unique asset offering utility to our businesses and value as an investment,” said Don DeLuca, Vice President, Legal of R+L Carriers.

Paramount Logistics is headquartered in Fort Myers, and is part of the Roberts Family of Companies. PLTS plans to build out and renovate the facility to house various transportation-related entities, such as companies focusing on truckload, less than truckload and third-party logistics (3PL) operations. The facility is a total of 266,000 square feet.

“The city is excited to see an asset like the Merillat building, which was sitting unproductive, again be a center for commerce,” said City Council President Jay Musleh.

Paramount Logistics provides a wide range of warehousing with facilities strategically placed throughout the country. This provides efficient operational alignment and standardization of their intermodal services supporting multiple customer channels.

“The Marion County Board of County Commissioners extends a warm welcome to Paramount Transportation Logistics Services in locating its new facility in our community,” said Marion County Commission Chairman Stan McClain. “The company's transportation and logistics operations will provide an employment foundation for 200 more Marion County families, and we are excited about the transport solutions they will bring closer to many local businesses.”

The company provides the most efficient cost-effective rail alternatives that allow their customers to maintain their competitive edge.
