Ocala Startups Collaborate and Innovate
The Recipe Box Goes Mobile
March 20, 2014 (Ocala, Florida) – Today ValueBox USA, LLC officially announces the launch of their new mobile application for iOS7 devices – iPhone and iPad. The app is available for free in the iTunes App store and allows local businesses to share their favorite family recipes with their customers. Examples of ValueBox USA recipes include meatloaf by a local spa, pasta from an Ocala insurer, and chili from an area maintenance contractor.
The new app represents not only a collaboration between two Ocala startups, CEP Partners, and Power Plant Business Incubator graduates, but also innovations in traditional recipe boxes, mobile application development, and the advertising industry.
“ValueBox USA began because I discovered that small businesses were looking for new and meaningful ways to connect with their customers. I began distributing physical recipe boxes which contained personal recipes from business leaders in the community,” said Chuck Henderson, Founder of ValueBox USA. “Our company creates value for both the small business owner – in the form of innovative advertising -- as well as the end-user who enjoys delicious recipes at no cost to them -- recipes with local people and stories behind them.”
As more cooks turn to the internet to find their recipes, Henderson realized the need to pivot his business model. He partnered with another Ocala startup, VidPlat, to bring his business into the digital age.
“Chuck wanted to take his pioneering service and provide it through an innovative new channel – a mobile application. VidPlat is a smooth, beautifully-designed, media-rich platform any business can easily employ to serve content to their customers on iPhone and iPad,” said Shane Wooten, Founder of VidPlat. “Within a short time we were able to get ValueBox USA up-and running with a visually stunning app to fit their needs.”
“We are inviting everyone to try a taste and download the new app today,” said Henderson.
