HealthSouth Breaks Ground on Expansion

Congratuations to HealthSouth Ocala which broke ground today on a new wing. The rehabilitation hospital, which just opened 15 months ago, is adding a 10-bed wing which will result in 25 additional jobs. The facility currently has 150 employees and is an important part of the community's significant health care sector. 

This represents one of several major health care expansions recently announced or in the works. The Ocala Health System, owner of Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital, recently announced plans for $50 million in expansion at those two facilities. Additionally, with the recent lease of Munroe Regional Medical Center to Community Health Systems, the company is committed to investing $150 million in capital improvements.

Health care is already one of the largest employers in the community representing approximately 20,000 jobs.
