Members of Leadership Ocala Marion Youth Class XXV were honored last night at a graduation dinner at the Marion County Extension Auditorium. Class XXV was composed of 40 high school juniors representing eight Marion County high schools.

The Leadership Ocala Marion Youth (LOMY) program is for students entering their junior year of high school and is modeled after the adult Leadership Ocala Marion program. LOMY seeks to develop young individuals to be the next generation of community leaders; preparing them for constructive and responsible involvement in community affairs, while also thinking seriously about career pathways in Ocala and Marion County. The nine-month long program provides the students with an in-depth introduction to various aspects of community life.

A Talent Development initiative of the CEP, program regents are currently selecting participants for Class XXVI. More than 90 students from 11 local high schools have applied for admission to this year's class.
