The Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership announced today that Louisa Barton will be filling the newly revised role of Assistant Director of Business Attraction which includes serving as Director of Equine Engagement.

Barton will be a part of the CEP’s Business Attraction team working with companies looking at the area, managing their RFP process, and serving as the lead on the Locate Ocala sites & buildings database.

Equine is a targeted sector for the CEP, and Barton will be leading the organization’s efforts at growing and assisting Marion County’s equine community.

A native of England, Barton has been an Ocala resident for 16 years. For the last three years, Barton has hosted her own horse radio show, “The Horse Talk Show,” on Florida SportsTalk FM/Fox Sports Ocala Gainesville.

“Louisa is an incredible get for our team,” said Kevin T. Sheilley, CEP President/CEO. “We have wanted to add someone on the team to focus on equine for my nearly four years here. She is well known in the equine world and can move between the various breeds and disciplines. Additionally, she has already proven to be a great addition for business attraction efforts. She jumped in on a project recently that had ties to the equine community and wowed us all with her efforts.”

The Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership was created to be a one-stop hub for the community’s business attraction, creation and retention efforts. The CEP’s mission is to be THE catalyst for a prosperous community. The Moving Forward plan seeks to impact the creation of 3500 new jobs with wages 15% above the county average and resulting in a capital investment of $225 million by 2018.
