CEP Announces “Mini” Micro Loans & Incubator Affiliate Program

Posted on: June 11, 2014

The Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP) has launched two new programs aimed at serving entrepreneurs in Marion County. Both programs are additions or “spinoffs” of existing offerings.

“Mini” Micro Loans – Last year the CEP began an SBA Microloan program, offering up to $50,000 to new or existing small businesses. Now, business seeking less than $3,500 with applicant credit scores of 720 or above, will be required to submit less paperwork and will experience overall faster turn-around times. Rather than putting smaller purchases for working capital, inventory, equipment and supplies on a credit card, area entrepreneurs can now utilize CEP’s Mini Micro loans as a financing alternative. Incubator Affiliate Program – The Power Plant Business Incubator (PPBI) has traditionally focused on Resident clients. Residents have private offices, must meet certain criteria and follow benchmarks leading to graduation. The PPBI is now offering an Incubator Affiliate program, which affords many of the same benefits of residency – minus the private space and entrance requirements.

Affiliates will receive access to the facility Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. They will also enjoy free wi-fi, shared cubicles, conference room usage, a physical address, meetings with residents and other affiliates, and directory listings. The price for this program, which follows a rising trend in co-working, has been set at $100 per month. CEP Partnership is also required. Those entrepreneurs who typically work from home or in area coffee shops are encouraged to call or email to learn more.
