CEP Announces Access to Capital Summit
Ocala, Florida (September 1, 2015) – Access to startup and operating capital is one of the primary challenges small businesses must navigate in order to grow and create jobs. In addition to traditional financing, other sources of capital exist of which entrepreneurs may be less aware. These funding sources include crowdfunding, angel capital, venture capital, and grants.
In an effort to promote greater awareness of the types of capital which exist, and to discover what makes a strong applicant for each, the Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP) will be holding an Access to Capital Summit on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 8am – 3pm at the College of Central Florida, Ewers Century Center located at 3001 SW College Rd, Ocala.
The day will be comprised of panel discussions, presentations on acquiring capital, lunch, and a roundtable. Panelists will include experts on crowdfunding, angel capital, and venture capital. In addition, representatives will be on-hand from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The event’s featured Keynote Speaker will be Kirstie Chadwick, President & CEO of the National Business Incubation Association. Chadwick is a former entrepreneur herself, having raised $13 million in venture capital for a business she co-founded, later becoming Executive Director of the Winter Park Angels.
Businesses seeking capital, as well as banking & finance professionals are encouraged to attend. Registration is free for CEP Partners at the Legacy partnership level and above; $10 for CEP Entrepreneur, Business, and Premium partnership levels; and $20 for the general public. All prices include lunch.
To view an event flyer and to register online visit Attendees must RSVP by September 22. Email and phone reservations are also accepted at or call 352-629-8051.
The Ocala/Marion County Chamber and Economic Partnership was created to be a one-stop hub for the community’s business attraction, creation and retention efforts. The CEP’s mission is to be THE catalyst for a prosperous community.
