Founded in 1898 as the community’s first hospital, Munroe Regional Medical Center is a privately-managed facility whose mission is to improve the health of our community by delivering compassionate, innovative care.  The medical center has 421 licensed beds, 2,500 associates, 450 physicians and 1,700 volunteers and is the largest private sector employer in Marion County.  Munroe admits over 24,000 patients each year, treats over 99,000 in three emergency departments, and sees another 51,600 for other outpatient needs. In 2013, Munroe Regional was named one of America’s Top 50 Hospitals for the seventh consecutive year by HealthGrades. Ocala Health System 

Ocala Health System is the health organization which encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 200-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 70-bed hospital located in West Marion County. The organization includes the only Commission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County and inpatient Joint Care Center. Ocala Health provides medical services designed to meet your needs at every stage of your life including bariatric surgery, cardiac and vascular, emergency, neurological and rehabilitation services and a variety of outpatient services.  Ocala Health has been recognized for providing exceptional care for patients needing specialized care, including specialized care for stroke, bariatric (weight-loss) surgery, and serious and life-threatening trauma. 

Both hositals are currently undergoing a combined $50 million expansion which will expand both the number of beds and services offered at each facility.

Ocala Regional Medical Center

Ocala Regional Medical Center is a full-service hospital that offers a host of specialized medical services including bariatric surgery, cancer, cardiac and vascular, emergency, neurological and rehabilitation services. The medical center has earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and has also received certification for its Knee, Hip, and Spine programs and is a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center® for knee and hip replacement. In addition, Ocala Regional has been designated as an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPC) and is recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement. Its bariatric surgery program is a Center of Excellence according to the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Ocala Regional Medical Center is also a Provisional Level II Trauma Center designated by the Florida Department of Health, Office of Trauma. This designation provides Trauma Service Area (TSA) 6, comprised of Marion, Hernando, and Citrus Counties, with its first and only trauma center.

West Marion Community Hospital

West Marion Community Hospital opened in 2002 to meet the healthcare needs of the growing population of West Marion County. The hospital features all private rooms and offers a full-service Emergency Department and Quick Care, as well as Marion County’s only inpatient Joint Care Center. Medical services include traditional surgery, radiological services and a variety of outpatient services. As part of Ocala Health System, West Marion Community Hospital has been named a Blue Distinction Center® for knee and hip replacement by Blue Cross Blue Shield and has earned the Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center and has also received certification for its Knee, Hip, and Spine programs. The Centers, a non-profit organization founded in 1972 and fully accredited by The Joint Commission, offers a full continuum of mental health and substance abuse services to help people of all ages reach their highest level of functioning. With recent expansions, The Centers houses 57 Acute Care beds, 50 Adult Residential Substance Abuse beds, and 15 Adolescent Residential Substance Abuse beds. With over 800 different services available to the community everyday, The Centers is Rebuilding Hope for the community’s most vulnerable citizens.

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital

HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Ocala is a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives.  The hospital provides a wide range of physical rehabilitation services, a vast network of highly skilled, independent private practice physicians and HealthSouth therapists and nurses, and the most innovative equipment and rehabilitation technology, ensuring that all patients have access to the highest quality care. In addition to caring for general rehabilitation diagnoses such as hip fractures, pulmonary, cardiac, generalized debilities, orthopedic, trauma, amputations and neurological disorders, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Ocala has a specialized inpatient program for stroke and also treats brain and spinal cord injury. This 48,477 square-foot hospital serves patients throughout Ocala and surrounding counties.

Hospice of Marion County and Its Affiliated Companies, Inc.

Hospice of Marion County, Inc. was founded in 1983, as a not-for-profit locally operated organization, to provide comprehensive compassionate care for those in the final stages of life. Hospice of Marion County offers exceptional support for patients and their families, mostly in the comfort of their own homes or at one of four Hospice Houses. The Legacy House, Estelle’s House, Sylvia’s House and The Tuscany House have a total of 64 beds, and provide high-level acute inpatient and routine care. Radiology Associates of Ocala, P.A.

Radiology Associates of Ocala, P.A. has been providing quality medical imaging services in Marion County since 1973.  Locally owned and operated, they have four affiliated offices for patients offering a full range of technologically advanced imaging services from a simple x-ray to an MRI or PET/CT.  They also schedule minimally invasive, highly effective vascular procedures to treat arteries and veins through Radiology Associates’ Center for Vascular Health.  Their radiologists are certified by the American Board of Radiology and are the exclusive providers at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital.

Since 2004, The Vines Hospital has been providing the highest quality mental health and addiction treatment services for adults as well as children.
